Looking for one-to-one support?
CLGW partners with Compass Community Services for counselling and therapy. Your sessions are confidential, and Compass has a variety of counsellors, trained and specializing in different areas, to help. They offer virtual, phone, and in-person counselling so if they don't have a location that is convenient to you, there are options! Getting set up is easy - just call their main line (519-824-2431 or toll free 1-844-724-6040) and use ext. 46 to start getting set up with a therapist and an appointment. See the EAP brochure here.

Dialectic Behaviour Therapy or DBT

This is a very basic outline list of the DBT skills for convenient reference. Learning to be mindful, to focus, to breathe will help make the application of the modules be more effective. It is paramount to your success in reducing stress and coping. Remember: Sometimes the skills will not work. This is when you need to quickly go to the Distress Tolerance module and take taking a vacation from the situation that you are in, practice radical acceptance, do a lot of self soothe, and distract activities. Experiencing something difficult as a team? Looking for strategies that will help everyone take positive steps forward?
Team coaching is available on request. Specific subject matter, such as compassion fatigue, is available for teams to participate and learn more, in an effort to strengthen dynamics and relationships.
Please reach out to your Supervisor if you and a few of your team members feel coaching might be a good fit for you.
For People Supported
One to One Counselling is available for the people who are supported residentially through CLGW. Please connect with your DSP or Supervisor for next steps and the referral form.
Distress line
The Distress line is available 7 days a week from 8 am to 10 pm. There is no cost and it is completely confidential. Trained volunteers can offer an empathetic ear when you are feeling alone, stressed or overwhelmed.

LGBTQ+ Support Line
Trained volunteers provide free and confidential access to support and referrals to community resources as well as an inclusive space to talk.

Crisis line
Here247 is a free crisis line operating 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The staff can connect you to needed mental health and addiction services, help de escalate a situation, provide skills in the moment as well as empathy and non judgment.

We now has occupational therapy available for the people who are supported residentially through CLGW. OT is a great resource to further understand and plan for a person's individual needs to best support that person.
