How many holes can you get in, from Dawn until Dusk?

Are you an avid golfer? Do you want to help a great charity? Join us for this one-day golf marathon, in support of Community Living Guelph Wellington.

Swing into Fall – Golf Marathon

On Monday September 21st, golfers will hit the links from sunrise to sunset in a mad dash to complete as many holes as they can! Swing into Summer FALL golfers collect pledges from friends, family and businesses, and shoot for the greens to meet their goals. All pledges collected support CLGW.

Not interested in golfing all day-long? We have two tiers of golfers available!

Dawn until Dusk Golfer

Tee-off at dawn (around 6:39am), in an epic pursuit of as many holes as you can.

We recommend that D-until-D golfers collect a minimum of $600 in pledges. Your entry includes meals, water throughout the day, cart, and as much golf as you can get in!

Just 18 Holes Golfer

Tee-off is flexible – let us know what works, and we’ll slot you in.

We recommend Just 18 Holes golfers collect a minimum of $150 in pledges. Your entry includes a meal that corresponds with your tee-off time, water throughout your round, cart, and 18 holes of golf.

Looking to pledge a golfer? Golfer’s Pledge Pages will be listed below, when ready.

COVID-19 precautions – Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club does a great job at ensuring the important parts of your day are sanitized and ready for you. Please be mindful to bring a mask, as masks are required by Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health in all indoor public settings (i.e. if you’re going inside the clubhouse for washrooms). While on the course, please practice physical distancing.

With special thanks to Joe Hamley and George Wilson, who help organize this event each year. Your dedication really makes a big difference for Community Living Guelph Wellington. We can’t wait for Swing into Fall!

What we’re raising funds for:

SMART Home Technology

For many of the people we support, a little extra technology would really help establish more independence in their life. The SMART technology will make day-to-day tasks more accessible and inclusive for the people we support.

In a pilot residence, CLGW implemented video phones for face-to-face, on-demand and mobile support. We also installed a video doorbell and a key-fob access control system with auto-locking doors, to allow easier accessibility for the people living in the home, while improving safety. We also installed network-connected smoke and CO detectors, to ensure that additional support can be mobilized in the event of a crisis.

We continue to investigate additional tools, include: automated reminder and personal assistant tools and apps to help with medication dispensing; a stove-guard safety system to prevent fires and injury while allowing someone to cook entirely for themselves; as well as virtual job coaching and life skills development.

For those living in the pilot residence, we saw real and tangible change when it came to everyday life. Their SMART home met their needs, rather than relying on the timing and scheduling of a Direct Support Professional, and the technology offered just enough support to help the person feel confident in their choices and independence.

Your support, and the raising of $13,900 will help outfit one of our residences with this vital tech.
