Dear friend of Community Living Guelph Wellington,

On behalf of Community Living Guelph Wellington, I have both the pleasure and sadness to announce that Janette Andersen will be leaving Community Living Guelph Wellington.

With 35+ years of service at CLGW, Janette has held many roles at CLGW. Her leadership, passion for the people we support, and expertise has had many positive impacts on CLGW, and we appreciate all you have done for the people we support and our teams.

Janette has accepted a new position at Community Living Kincardine.

As Janette says:

“During the past 35 years, CLGW has given me the opportunity to have many different roles and experiences. As a result of those opportunities, I have become a better leader and have witnessed our services grow and evolve.

Two roles that stand out for me: the Direct Support Professional role and the Quality Enhancement Manager role. My experience as a DSP was the start of my career and was a good foundation for my future leadership roles. It gave me an understanding and appreciation for the people supported and for the DSPs. The quality role allowed me to work with some great colleagues to develop person centred training and POM Workshops. Creating that capacity in DSP’s and then seeing the people supported grow and take control of their own lives is simply the best!

In the POM training, our last slide is a quote from Maya Angelou “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better” That’s always been my motto. I like to think I did great work 35 years ago, but as time goes on, we learn new things and evolve to provide the best possible service in the present moment. For the past 35 years, CLGW has given me that opportunity, to learn, evolve and provide service excellence.”

Janette’s last day at CLGW will be June 30,2023.

To help us send Janette off on a happy note, we are hosting two farewell gatherings to celebrate Janette.

• Monday, June 26, 2023 from 1pm-3pm at Wellington County Library – Mount Forest Branch – Community Room (118 Main Street N, Mount Forest ON N0G 2L0)
• Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 2pm-4pm at 8 Royal Rd., Guelph ON

Knowing that Janette’s years of experience has made quite the mark, we are looking forward to seeing many people. This gathering is a drop-in, so please feel free to come anytime.
