2020 Spring Fashion Gala - Update and what's next

First and foremost, from the Fashion Gala Committee and from all of us here at Community Living Guelph Wellington, we hope you are well, healthy and safe.

Each year, we host a wonderful group of fashionistas, hopeful to see Spring fashion trends while raising important funds for Community Living Guelph Wellington. We are tremendously grateful for your dedication, support, and love of the Spring Fashion Gala.

Given that this year was our 40^th Gala, as well as CLGW’s 65^th anniversary, we were really excited for a great event. This year was going to be special.

Our Fashion Gala committee has been on the lookout for a crystal ball, to help us learn what the future might hold in 2020. But, we just haven’t managed to find one.

Unfortunately, we are formally cancelling our 2020 Spring Fashion Gala.

The reality of the Gala is that it takes months of planning and coordinating with phenomenal businesses, community groups, and people. We’re grateful for the amazing clothiers and fashion providers who invite us into their stores to get a sneak peek at their upcoming fashion line, and who give us the honour to showcase their garments. We’re thankful for the fantastic stylists and aestheticians (and the models who masterfully step in for last minute touchups) who put their heart and soul into ensuring our models look their finest. We’re humbled by the talents of Expressions by DSK, who shares their time, talents, and passion with our Fashion Gala models week over week, to prepare them for their 15 minutes on the runway. And of course, we owe a debt of gratitude to our models and volunteers, who are the life force of our event. Without all of these, our Gala wouldn’t be what it is.

It is in the best interest of everyone involved, that we take our time before we bring together more than 300 people to celebrate our community, the talents of all of the people who make this Gala what it is, and fashion.

We are hopeful that we will be back on the runway in 2021, and will share a date with you as soon as we have it.
